NEW COVENANT BIBLE CHURCH |
|
"Where the
cross of Christ is proclaimed, the word of God is taught, the
body of Christ is equipped, and Jesus Christ is glorified" |

A church is not a building; it is
the people of God--of one mind
and
one heart--meeting
together to minister to one
another, encourage one another, pray for one
another, edify one another, and build each other up in our most holy
faith. It is the body and
bride of Christ who, committing herself
first to the Lord and then to each other
as a family,
spur
one another on to love and good
works, and together partake of the Lord's Table and the apostles' teaching. |

Our
Elders, Deacons and Fellow Workers |
 |
Eric
Svendsen, Pastor and Bible Teacher. Eric graduate from Tennessee
Temple University (B.A.), Trinity Evangelical Divinity School
(M.A.), and Greenwich School of Theology, North-West University
(Ph.D.). He is an adjunct professor of New Testament at Golden Gate
Baptist Theological Seminary (Denver campus), and has authored several books on biblical and theological
themes (see the Resources page). He also appears regularly on Christian talk
radio shows, including the nationally syndicated "Bible Answer Man"
broadcast with Hank Hanegraaff. Eric is married to Madeline, and together they are raising
a son and have a daughter and a grandson. |

Robert
Cook, Elder. Robert leads our church to the throne of grace
week after week, and heads up our youth group where he faithfully
teaches our young people how to live and share their faith as a way
of life. Robert is a living example to us of true humility and love
for both Christ and His church; and there are few men who genuinely
love and allow themselves to be molded by the word of God as much as
Robert. Although he would be the first to say he has a long way to
go, to the rest of us Robert truly exemplifies the spirit of Phil
1:21: “for me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” Robert is
married to Sandy, his wife of 22 years, and together they have three
daughters and a grandson. |
 |
Rollie Sohnholz, Deacon. Rollie has been
with us, it seems, since the beginning of time. Rollie's appointment
as deacon was a natural one since both he and his wife Cookie have
always stepped up--most of the time without even being asked!--to
serve the church with joyful and willing hearts. Rollie and Cookie
have proven themselves over the years to be mature, faithful, and
exemplary servants of our Lord to His church, and we are honored
(and relieved!) to know that our church's earthly needs are in very
good hands. Rollie also serves as the head of our church's financial
committee, and acts as our church's treasurer. |
 |
Chris Scheer, Deacon. A sensitive heart,
an unassuming demeanor, and a servant attitude make Chris a natural
selection for deacon of our church. Chris and his wife Debbie have
been with us for several years, and they are a model of hospitality
to our church in their eager hosting of one of our mid-week oikos
groups, and in their administrative duties for the church. Together
they serve the church with great joy in the Lord and with a fervent
love for all the saints. As with our other servant couple, Rollie
and Cookie, we are honored and blessed to have them as precious
members of out body. |
